The power of the consumer to drive the market can not be underestimated. Small changes we make to our buying patterns soon set trends in the retail sector, which constantly monitors our buying habits.

Use this power to your advantage and make your opinion count.

Environmental Policy

Yes we may be small in the scheme of things but we like to see the bigger picture.

Our holistic approach to health extends to the environment around us too. Foods carrying residual pesticides or drinks loaded with synthetic additives don't do any body any favours. Neither does the exploitation of "far away lands" or their people benefit any of us spiritually. Some people would rather not know that this is happening. At Chi Force we would rather act to stop it happening.

Our belief in the promotion of sustainable and more natural lifestyles has been long standing. We see first hand how illness and stress can be linked to environmental factors. We therefore encourage a purity of approach to life which means recognising that even in our man made jungles and urban lifestyles we still remain in touch with our natural origins and not lose sight of our inter-connection with the rest of humanity. Every individual can make a difference.

Here's how we are trying to make a difference.
  • All our laundered products are washed in Ecover detergents and dried naturally wherever possible.
  • We don't use fabric conditioners unless absolutely necessary, in which case it is again from the Ecover range.
  • Our washing machines and Driers are "A" rated and we offset carbon emissions produced by our laundry process.
  • All new towelling used is made of Organic cotton.
  • All paper towelling is made from recycled paper.
  • Any waste paper or card products are recycled where possible and where hygiene procedures allow.
  • Our equipment is cleaned using Ecover products and we use natural disinfectants such as tea tree and lemon based sprays where suitable.
  • Our equipment is specialist to our field. Some components of our equipment come from sustainable sources. But we suspect the largest part doesn't. Our equipment is not however turned over in high quantities, we expect years of use from it. First and foremost it must be constructed to high safety and functionality levels. However we do make our suppliers aware that we are interested to hear if they use sustainable or recycled materials and through persistent requests for more environmentally friendly manufacturing of equipment we hope to encourage a new market in this field.
  • Unfortunately we do need our cars to carry all our equipment and we like to think we consider our car use carefully. Currently we are looking into refuelling our cars with bio-diesel which is not yet available locally. We do offset our vehicles carbon emissions through voluntarily paying a carbon duty in relation to the miles we travel.
  • We make a conscious effort to use recycled paper in all of our stationery. If we can not obtain 100% recycled products we choose companies that our consciously reducing or offsetting their carbon waste.
  • Our ink cartridges are refilled and then recycled. We are looking into the possibilities of using vegetable based inks. The largest part of our communication is done via email which aids in the reduction of paper consumption. We don't have glossy brochures as we believe you will find the majority of the information you are looking for here on this site. We are more than happy to help you if you need any further information.
  • We use organic massage oils and essential oils wherever obtainable, if we can find oils that state they have been fairly traded and are organic we will have a preference to use these. All containers are recycled, refilled or reused.
  • Talcum powder when used is fragrance free we have vegetable based powders too. All our wipes are also fragrance free.
  • We recycle all our expended glass, plastic, card and paper. Towels beyond their life have their fibres recycled at a local fabric recycling scheme.
  • Chi force enlists the help of Climate care, an organisation which helps us to offset our carbon emissions. Climate care establishes renewable energy and energy conservation projects in those countries not already committed to the Kyoto Protocol. The restoration of rainforest in Uganda and distribution of energy efficient light bulbs as part of a project in Kazakhstan are just a couple of examples of Climate care's work. Visit www.climatecare.org to find out more about some of these great projects.
